Reachable Benefits

Find out which benefits you may already qualify for. Then get a person to help you apply.

Who it's for

  • People with a disability or a long-term health problem.
  • Seniors, especially on a low income.
  • Family members and caregivers helping someone else.
  • Anyone who suspects there is money or help they are not getting.

Many benefits are only paid to people who know to ask, and the forms can be hard. That is what we help with.

What you get

  • The benefits finder on this page. A few questions, no personal details, and a list of programs you may qualify for, each with the phone number to call.
  • Plain-language information about each program: what it is, who qualifies, how to apply, and where the information came from.
  • A person to help you apply. A trained Reachable volunteer, called a navigator, sits with you by phone or in person, helps you fill in the forms, and helps with the part a doctor has to sign.
  • The same help by phone. Call the Reachable Line and ask about any benefit. You do not need this website.
  • Step-by-step guides you can read at your own pace, with every figure traced to its source. Read the guides.

How to start

  1. Answer the questions below. Skip anything you are not sure about.
  2. Read your results. Each one has a "Call" button for the office that runs the program.
  3. Press "Help me apply" and a volunteer will get in touch.

Would you rather read than answer questions?

Our guides explain the big programs one at a time — what they pay, who qualifies, exactly what to say on the phone, and what to do if you are turned down. A good place to begin is Start here: how the benefits system fits together.

Your answers stay in your browser. We do not send them anywhere. Only the government can decide for sure, and amounts change, so we show the date we last checked.

The benefits finder needs JavaScript, which is turned off in your browser

You do not need it to get help. Use the Help me apply form below, or call us and a person will go through the questions with you.

Help me apply

A Reachable Benefits volunteer will get in touch and help you apply. Give us a phone number or an email so we can reach you.

Prefer to talk? Call us and say what you need. You never have to use this website to get help.

Fields marked * are required.

What we will never do

  • Charge you, or take a share of your benefit. Some companies charge a cut of your back-pay to fill in the Disability Tax Credit form. We never will.
  • Ask for your Social Insurance Number, bank details, or passwords on this website or by phone. When a navigator helps you with a real form, you keep your papers, and we do not keep copies.
  • Give medical, legal, or financial advice. We explain programs and help with forms. Doctors, lawyers, and advocates do the rest, and we can tell you who to call.
  • Apply for anything without you. You see and sign everything.
